Strike Action - 30th November 2011


Customers whose travel plans are disrupted as a result of strike or industrial action in the UK or abroad e.g. air traffic control strikes

If you purchased a Go Travel Insurance policy* and booked your trip before the strike or industrial action was planned, then cover will be available under the Travel Delay section of your policy – see below:

Travel Delay

The insurer will pay you £20 for each 12 hours you are delayed up to £300, if your planned:

  • first outward flight, rail or sea trip from your home in the UK, or
  • final inbound flight, rail or sea trip to your home in the UK is delayed in departure for 12 hours or more due to:
    a)strike or
    b) industrial action

If you are delayed more than 24 hours you may be able to claim under the Holiday Abandonment section.


*This cover does not apply to Backpacker policies.
