Claims Adjuster
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Scope: To work within our claims team dealing with all aspects of claims
Purpose: To adjust claims emanating from the sales operation, dealing with correspondence, inbound & outbound calls to claimants and third parties and general administration duties.
Key Tasks
- Answer inbound calls in a polite, friendly and professional manner within a maximum of 30 seconds
- Enter claims accurately onto the claims system
- Make a determination of the validity and value of the claim
- Effectively communicate with the claimant and related third parties
- Keep up to date with the products that are offered by Drakefield Insurance Services Limited
- Keep abreast of the latest travel advice issued by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office
- Complete all training offered by DISL
- Work effectively as part of the sales team
Skills & Knowledge
- Building rapport with customers
- Handling customer objections
- Effectively operate the claims administration system
- Working knowledge of MS Word & Excel
- Effectively operate the telephone system
- Successfully undergo and complete any training courses offered by DISL
- Identify the main travel destinations, countries, cities and resorts
- Understanding of the complaints procedure
- Working knowledge of the Financial Services Authority rules, regulations and requirements
Objectives
- To ensure that all correspondence is answered within a maximum of 5 working days of receipt
- Determine claims within a maximum of 10 working days once all necessary documentation has been received.
- Answer all calls received within working hours within a maximum of 30 seconds
