Going on holiday? – Get a great deal on travel insurance
Despite the credit crunch, it seems that millions of people are still planning to jet off over the May bank holiday weekend.
According to flight search engine Skyscanner, London is the most popular destination with those looking to get away for a few days.
However, data also present that people are still keen to travel within Europe.
"Spain still remains the single most popular country destination outside of the UK for the May Day holiday travel, with four Spanish destinations appearing in the top ten," the website noted.
Other destinations which featured in the top ten include Amsterdam, Barcelona, Rome, Dublin and Paris.
Figures released by Hotels.com recently showed that the average hotel room in Dublin is almost £30 less per night than a room in London.
The company suggested that despite the strength of the euro, British holidaymakers will still find good deals overseas.
