Silversea Cruises has announced that it will be offering 11 luxury cruises to Alaska in 2006.

All cruises will be served by the liner's best ship in its fleet, the 382-passenger Silver Shadow. The ship will be the only luxury-class cruiser to serve Alaska next year.

Alaska has become one of the hottest cruise destinations in recent years. Travellers love the US state's rugged and untamed landscape.

Voyages will range from nine to 14 days and will cost between $4,257 and $7,518.

Vice president of Silversea Steve Odell believes that these cruises are the most luxurious trips to Alaska.

He said: "There are a number of mainstream mega-ships calling in Alaska next year, but only Silversea offers an exclusive alternative for the affluent consumer seeking an award-winning, all-inclusive and intimate shipboard experience."
