Going on holiday? – Get a great deal on travel insurance

British holiday makers are most interested in the cost of their trip when selecting a holiday, it has been revealed by the Telegraph.

The cost of a holiday outranked environmental impact according to research conducted by YouGov and Celtic Castles.

Around 43 per cent of adults in the UK said that the cost of travelling to their destination and the price of their accommodation was their foremost consideration, it might interest those seeking travel cover to know.

While weather and culture were also high up on the list of influential factors, only one per cent of Britons considered their carbon footprint to be the main factor in their choice of destination.

Roger Masterson, founder of Celtic Castles, commented: "With climate change never far from the headlines, I was taken aback by how unimportant the environment is to those seeking a break."

Ecotourism is a way of conserving local ecosystems and involves travel to places where local wildlife and plant systems are primary attractions.
