Going on holiday? – Get a great deal on travel insurance

Annual travel insurance cover is more cost-effective than single-trip protection, it has been suggested.

With more Britons than ever embarking on regular holidays, paying for annual cover could offer better value and greater peace of mind.

According to American Express, 85 per cent of Brits travelling abroad this summer intend to take out a travel insurance policy, with a majority of those opting for multi-trip protection.

However, all holidaymakers are now being urged to consider the option and save money.

American Express spokesman Chris Rolland explained: "We understand that holiday costs can add up, but by investing in annual travel insurance, Brits will save in the long run and be free to enjoy several breaks throughout the year."

In other money-saving news, it seems that British holidaymakers are jetting further afield this year in an effort to avoid the strong euro.

According to the Association of British Travel Agents, Britons are also flocking to the US to make the most of the weak dollar.
