Going on holiday? – Get a great deal on travel insurance
Drivers opting for environmentally-friendly car insurance policies may find themselves out of pocket, a new study reveals.
Findings by moneysupermaket.com suggest that by choosing green cover motorists could pay up to 44 per cent more compared to standard premiums.
Richard Mason, director of insurance for the price comparison website, said: "Drivers are increasingly concerned about their impact on the environment and in an effort to 'go green' many may be tempted to opt for eco-friendly car insurance."
However, he recommended that those looking to help the environment should find the most comprehensive cover available and direct savings towards eco-friendly causes.
Mr Mason added: "Not only will you have the peace of mind that your charity is receiving the money directly, but you will get value for money on your policy."
Meanwhile, those looking to take their car on holiday have been advised by American Express to ensure they take out adequate motor cover, in addition to travel insurance, as one tenth of holidaymakers are set to suffer a breakdown.
However, tourists will be glad to know that Go Travel Insurance has a wide range of travel insurance policies designed to cover numerous pre-existing medical conditions, special needs and disabilities.
