Going on holiday? – Get a great deal on travel insurance
Although the credit crunch has not deterred Brits from going on holiday, it does seem to have impacted on the "scale" of their plans.
TravelMole reports that holidaymakers are "tightening their belts" and keeping to their budgets, with all-inclusive breaks proving increasingly popular.
Ben Braude, sales director of Fleetways Travel, commented: "The majority of our bookings are for all-inclusive accommodation because people want to know exactly how much they are spending
And they want to know down to the last penny, including even the credit card booking fee."
Chief executive of A2Btransfers.com Renaldo Scheepers said that people were also more likely to take one long holiday, as opposed to several short breaks.
It also seems that Brits are diversifying when it comes to holidays, with camping trips soaring in popularity this year. According to Canvas Holidays, bookings have increased by around 15 per cent over the last six weeks.
