Going on holiday? – Get a great deal on travel insurance
A British family got more than they bargained for when they visited a Spanish zoo recently.
Lee Levett and his wife and daughters were attacked by an Arrui goat during a visit to Terra Natura in Murcia, the Irish Sun reports.
The family were moving between parts of the zoo when they were confronted by the freely roaming beast, Mr Levett claims.
"We just opened the door to enter the next part of the zoo when we saw this big animal standing in our path. It had a long, shaggy coat and curly horns," says the 45-year-old.
"I thought 'something is not right here'."
Staff at the zoo countered that such a peaceful animal would have to be provoked for it to act in the way the Reigate resident described.
Terra Batura describes itself as a new-generation wildlife park offering a 'Zooimmersion' experience - whereby visitors can come into close contact with the animals.
