Finca Cerrillo, an hour north of Spanish hotspot Malaga, is nestled in the hills and offers respite from the overcrowded beaches nearby.
As well as the mandatory swimming pool, there are plenty of activities for tourists to enjoy in the local area, including horse riding and mountain biking.
The coast is just 30 minutes away and the charming town of Nerja offers bars, restaurants and golden beaches. For a longer trip, you can head to Granada and see the famous Alhambra Palace, which is two hours from the hotel.
Double rooms cost around £75 per night, inclusive of breakfast, and the hotel's eating arrangements have been praised by the Observer: "You eat on the terrace most of the time, a stunning setting for food that is at its best when simple – platters of cheese, olives, ham, etc."
Malaga is easily accessible from the UK, with cheap flights provided by the likes of Monarch Airlines.
