Hens looking for a little "action" on their hen weekends are more likely to go for the action-adventure variety than the opposite sex, according to lastminute.com.
The travel portal's lifestyle director Lopo Champalimaud told Travel Mole: "Women are most certainly giving the men a run for their money when it comes to choosing an energetic way of spending their last few days of freedom.
"The traditional hen weekend which involved lots of pampering, relaxation and self-cleansing have taken a back seat.
"Instead, women are opting for more excitement and the more adventurous and booze-fuelled the better."
Adventure hen weekends include white water rafting, climbing and abseiling, all of which are currently popular choices with hens in the know.
Other mad options include paintballing, something more commonly associated with stag weekends, or even a visit to the Zip Wire in Newquay, where plucky hens ride Europe's highest aerial runway then plummet down by free abseiling.
Far better than sitting around clucking at the boys.
