With a legacy stretching back thousands of years, Mount Wutai in China, one of the country's four sacred mountains, has been the site of sacred activity for millennia.
Here, up the mountain, Tibetan Lamaism and Chinese Buddhism are practised close together in relative harmony, one of the few places in the world where this happens.
Every sixth lunar month, the mountain is opened to tourists, who can travel up to some of the scared sites and experience the Buddhist rituals that are carried out here.
Literally meaning "the five platforms", Wutai is a collection of five peaks, which at their highest point stretch 3058 metres into the sky, making it the highest mountain in Northern China.
The incredible views are complimented by the unique insight into the lives of some of the most devout believers of both religions and a chance to experience what life has been like for the most dedicated of worshippers for centuries in the same region.
The sixth lunar month will fall around July and August this year.
