Fans of the great Spanish director Pedro Almodovar, or at least of his luscious subjects like Gael Garcia Bernal, will be pleased to hear that the great man features at Madrid's upcoming gay and lesbian film festival.
Held from November 3rd to 13th, the festival shows a huge number of films at different venues across the city.
This year's offerings include Butterfly, Floored by Love, Mysterious Skin and Wild Side.
Hong Kong indie-sapphic flick Butterfly charts the forbidden love of two Chinese women, while Mysterious Skin is a darker, American film directed by Gregg Araki and adapted from Scott Heim's novel.
Prizes, based on votes by the public at screenings, are also awarded.
In addition, a special retrospective of Pedro Almodovar's work will be held. The maker of All About My Mother, Talk to Her and more recently Bad Education is at the forefront of Spanish cinema and what better way to find out more about him than in Madrid itself, the setting for so many of Almodovar's films.
