Early figures indicate that ski breaks in France will be as popular as ever over the coming year.
According to the Ski Industry Report 2008, which was published by Crystal Holidays recently, France dominates around 37.5 per cent of the ski holiday market.
Jean-Pierre Courteau, UK director of Maison de la France, commented: "French ski resorts are investing a lot of money to improve their accommodation and to offer skiers a greener environment and these improvements should help France to keep its pole position with British skiers."
Mr Courteau added that the expansion of low-cost airlines had also helped to boost the ski holiday market.
In related news, the Telegraph today (October 22nd) published a guide for those looking to keep the cost of their ski holiday to a minimum.
Top tips include avoiding expensive restaurants, travelling out of season and holidaying in lesser-known resorts.
