Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has been spotted holidaying in Israel, after failing to turn up at team mate Wayne Rooney's recent nuptials.

Pictured in the Daily Mail, the footballer has been soaking up the sun alongside his brother Anton and former Leeds star Jody Morris; however, he has reportedly failed to contact Rooney to offer an explanation for his absence.

Ferdinand had been due to attend last week's wedding in Portofino with his partner Rebecca Ellison, but unexpectedly pulled out at the last minute.

According to a report by the Telegraph, the bride and groom were "upset and mystified" by Ferdinand's apparent snub.

Rooney and his childhood sweetheart Coleen were wed in a lavish £5 million ceremony - with the couple flying their guests to Italy on private jets and putting everyone up in luxury accommodation.
