Britons looking to recapture their youth this summer may wish to consider a holiday to the fairy tale capital of the world – Odense – in Denmark.

Home to one of the world's most famous storytellers - Hans Christian Andersen - Odense is a city steeped in history and culture.

For family visitors, the Hans Christian Andersen Parades throughout July are a must-see. Children will no doubt be awe-inspired to see their favourite fairy tale characters come to life and dance through the streets of Odense.

Some of Andersen's most famous tales include Thumbelina, The Little Mermaid, The Ugly Duckling and The Emperor's New Clothes.
