Going on holiday? – Get a great deal on travel insurance

It seems that British children are travelling on a "half-bored" basis when it comes to family holidays, with 28 per cent of young people claiming that their annual break is as dull as dishwater.

The study, carried out by Ocean Village cruise line, also revealed that 30 per cent of children though their friends had more exciting holidays.

It also emerged that holiday tantrums are most likely to begin when children reach 11 and begin to enter adolescence.

When it comes to holiday habits, 60 per cent of families said they liked to holiday with grandparents, while 20 per cent claimed that they enjoyed holidaying with other families.

However, over a quarter of parents said they preferred to holiday without their children.

A recent survey by Kayak.co.uk found that 90 per cent of people view holidays as an important factor when it comes to their overall happiness.
