Going skiing or snow-boarding? – Get a great deal on travel insurance
The French ski resort of Chamonix has terrain to suit skiers of all abilities, it has been claimed.
Writing in the Telegraph, Gabriella Le Breton listed the resort's best ski runs, with the Vallee Blanche leading the way.
The famous Vallee Blance is more than 14 miles long and is one of Chamonix's most famous runs; however, Ms Le Breton recommends that first-timers only attempt to ski down the valley with the help of a qualified guide.
Brevent was also singled out as an exceptional ski area, particularly for intermediate skiers looking to build their technique.
"Located across the valley from Mont Blanc, the views from Brevent and Flegere are arguably the best in the valley and the ski area is often sunnier than the others," Ms Le Breton noted.
In other ski-related news, a recent poll by TripAdvisor found that one in ten Brits are planning to hit the slopes over the coming year.
