Going on holiday? – Get a great deal on travel insurance

An increasing number of holidaymakers are taking out insurance for their caravan, it has been revealed.

According to Mike Stammers, assistant manager of insurance broker Alan Blunden, there has been a "huge turnover" in the proportion of consumers getting cover for their vehicle over the past two years.

He said: "It is quite a niche market but a lot of people are getting into it now."

Mr Stammers added that taking out caravan insurance was generally an uncomplicated and "simple" procedure.

Despite the rising popularity of caravanning holidays among tourists, the Alan Blunden representative claimed the number of claims was generally low.

Meanwhile, those holidaymakers looking to take their caravan abroad are well advised to ensure that they take out an adequate travel insurance policy before they leave Britain.

Earlier this month, Malcolm Tarling from the Association of British Insurers claimed that tourists should on focus on getting travel insurance which offers the most comprehensive cover for their needs while away and should not be swayed by the cost of premiums.
