Europcar has announced that it has opened Europe's largest car rental location near to Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5.

The car rental company is reported to have invested more than £1 million in the 3.4-acre site, which was designed to take advantage of increased traffic to and from the airport.

Its fleet includes 4,500 vehicles and can accommodate up to 190,000 check-ins and check-outs annually, incorporating customers from all Europcar UK Group brands: Europcar, National Car Rental, Alamo Rent A Car and Guy Salmon Prestige Rental.

"Travellers want a swift and stress-free transition - whether it's from plane to car or car to plane - and that has been our total focus in the creation of this industry-leading facility," John Leigh, managing director of Europcar UK Group, commented, according to Easier.

The news could also be of interest to those who have had to call upon the service of their travel insurance policies in recent weeks following flight cancellations at the new Terminal 5.
