Going on holiday? – Get a great deal on travel insurance
British consumers are prepared to pay out for holidays, despite the current economic climate.
A new survey by Holiday Extras has revealed that the average Briton spends between £500 and £1,000 on their annual holiday.
Of those polled, 32 per cent said they spent between £200 and £500, while 20 per cent of respondents said they would think nothing of shelling out over out on their summer holiday.
Commenting on the findings, Mike Whiting, managing editor for Holiday Extras, said: "These results show that no matter what the economy is like holidays are very important to people in the UK and they are prepared to invest their hard earned money in them."
He added that a well-planned holiday could leave people feeling de-stressed, revitalised and ready to take "anything life has to throw at you".
In other news, an earlier study by Holiday Extras revealed that a camera is the item holidaymakers would least like to leave at home.
